It's a good idea to become familiar with illnesses suffered by relatives, since many diseases, including diabetes, run in families. This program makes it easy to keep track of your family's health history. You can print your results and discuss them with your healthcare provider to help fend off development of conditions for which you may be at risk.
In conjunction with the My Family Health Portrait software, the Surgeon General has designated Thanksgiving as National Family History Day. If your family gets together during the Holidays, this would be a great time to talk about and collect their health information.
